In a press conference held on the site of a state-of-the-art aged care facility in Queensland, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese reiterated his government’s pre-election commitment to fix the sector.

Speaking at the Rockpool Residential Aged Care site in Carseldine, Brisbane, Mr Albanese said: “During the campaign, Labor committed, in my last Budget reply, to a five-point solution for aged care.”

Rockpool Residential Aged Care is a Queensland owned and operated fully accredited aged care provider offering residential, respite, memory support and palliative care services.

Work is well underway on Rockpool’s $43 million, 150-bed aged care home at Carseldine in Brisbane, touted as Australia’s first five-star green-star rated residential aged care facility.

Australia’s first five-star green-star rated aged care home is set to open in north Brisbane in July this year, with construction on the $43 million development already underway.

The zero energy emission Rockpool residential aged care community is at 56 Plaza Parade and is a part of the master plan Carseldine Village development.

After purchasing a 6,000 square-metre site on the Sunshine Coast in September 2021, Queensland residential aged care provider Rockpool has received the green light from council to proceed with its $44m Pelican Waters development.

The Sunshine Coast is set to receive a “state-of-the-art” $44m aged care centre by 2023 after council approval was granted this week.

Aged care specialists Rockpool announced on Monday the Pelican Waters facility had been given the green light to commence construction by April 2022.

Queensland aged care provider Rockpool Residential Aged Care has purchased a 6,000 square metre site in Sunshine Coast suburb Pelican Waters to build a 150-bed six-story residential aged care home.
